SOSFA submission to the National Preventive Health Strategy consultation
Updated: Jul 27, 2021
In April 2021 the SOS Fracture Alliance provided a submission into the Australian Department of Health's Draft National Preventive Health Strategy consultation as part of our on-going advocacy for secondary fracture prevention.
The Strategy is intended to provided the overarching, long-term approach to prevention in Australia by working to build systemic change to ensure the best outcomes for all Australians.
SOSFA was broadly supportive of the Strategy in concept and the principles it establishes, but believe the omission of osteoporosis and secondary fractures as a Focus Area is a key omission given their large bur preventable burden on the health system.
